I just got my hands on a second gen turbo and i was wondering what i would need to put it on my 1g n/a. I know i would need a fuel pump, injectors, intake and possable exhaust. Can i use any of these parts off a 2g car? or do i need to buy upgrades spcifically made for a 1g? Would i need an intercooler? Is it evan possable to do? Any information woiuld be appriciated.

its actually vey possible. you need a lower boost like 8 psi i would think. It could basically be a bolt on but labor would run about 2G and you would need another 500-1000 worth of parts on top of the turbo. by the way im going to try this to i think. the garret t25(2g turbo) seems like a good choice because its not as large and has faster spool up times. If you want email me and we can try to work out a project for this together.

Well the labor isnt the problem, i work at goodyear. A couple guys owe me favors so i will get it done for free. Do i need all those parts or what do i need to get? is there any kits made up for it?

2.0 or 1.8 , turbo will not work on 1.8 (I dont think??)

for the 2g go to hahn race craft the 420 engine is totally different than the 4g63. As for the 1g you can make a 1.8 into a 2.0, and then into a turbo(its a PITA). For the GS 2.0 its actually not that tough if you got the labor covered. And yse you need to buy almost all that stuff. there is no kit but i think i know how to make a kit up. its a little tricky but can be done since the 1G has the same engine as the turbo with a different compression. I think the 1g engine N/A engine could work real well even with out changing the N/A compression rate. I can help you get together the "kit" if you need for the 1g.
The 2g rs or gs n/a get one of these kits; http://www.turbogs.com(star performance) http://www.hrchahnracecraft.com also makes a kit for the 2g since its a different engine than the 1g N/A both kits seem good and there is a comparison of the 2 somewhere. With the 1G i actually have turbo install sketches set(there a generalization)

What do I exactly need to get from 95hp to 150-200 range?
Would be greatly appreciated!

200, alot of work, 150 not so much, headers intake exhaust underdrive pulley and (swap the 1.8 engine into a 2.0)thats kinda the easiest. the 1.8 on its own even with mods cant do to much, unless you swap it into a 2.0 but i dont know how much it costs.

I am putting together a kit for 1g 2.0's the first component will include the garret t25 (stock turbo on the 2g) It seems to be a better match for the N/A car. I am currently trying to add everything together, but it does not seem to hard to do, but this is only for the 4g63 2.0 1g N/A. If i can do this succesfully on my car i will sell the kit. or at least explain to everyone how to do it. My only problem is im broke so it may take time to gather parts.
Parts needed: T25 turbo, downpipe, exhaust manifold, oil cooler line intake pipeThese are some major things. there is more and i will make a comprehensive list as i go along. I will most likely set up a kit using many 1g stock parts so we can all save money and buy them off of people who have upgraded parts.
Also, the more people who show intrest in this the faster i will get it done, especially if i can actually make some money off it:)
HP will be the same or higher than a stock gsx as long as my predictions work out.

Awsome man, best of luck. Let me know how it goes and any problems you run into. i will be your 1st purchaser of the kit if you get it togather.

if you just want to be competetive, get NzO, if you want power for the street, i think it'd be cheaper and more reliable to get a turbo car :(

Wouldnt a turbo be cheaper in the long run? you wouldnt have to keep buying canisters. How much of a shot can these engine's handle? Whaats the cheapest place to get one? and i heard of some people having problems with venting a NoS while still haveing subs. Is this True? Also NoS is illegal in VA, but putting a turbo on isnt.

Purely Sublime is in the process of making a turboed 1g gs. He seams to know whats up and is just jetting eveything together but, he says it will be done before the shootout. So ask him, I'm sure he can help you out. Heres a link to his site. http://www.purelysublime.com/

You don't need the pump or injectors. You will need a new ECU though for sure, along with a manifold, O2 housing.

he says it *might* be done before the shootout :D i'm working my arse off to get this thing done. but remember... i'm gonna do it RIGHT, no half assed work here. plus i got hit with welding and rebuilding a mt tranny and doing a at/mt swap too so there is a slight chance i'll be coming to the SO as an NT... but we'll have to wait and see :)
after all, i am a fulltime worker / college kid too heh ;)

you could swap out your whole engine! if you want to pay that much!!$1899.00 Go to http://www.ardperformance.com/store/shop.cgi/page=engines.html
at the bottom of the page there is a turbo engine for your car! I dont know about the transmission you would have to use, but i bet stock would do okay.
