I have a 2G N/T Eclipse with a APEXi N-1 cat-back exhaust, I know that this exhaust system was designed for a Turbo motor but I just loved the way it sounds. Anyway, I hear that if you dont have enough back pressure that you loose all of your low end torque, which seems to be the case here. If I install the silencer supplied with the exhaust would it help with the low end or is it just hopeless?

I believe that the silencer reduces the flow to 2" so I might give you back a little bit of back pressure.

Like Doug said it might help a little. I know it only drops about 1-2 hp with it in on the turbo cars so there has to be some decrease in flow.

I have the same exhaust, the loss of tow end power isn't that noticable, but the crappy sound the silencer makes is. Add an aem cold air and that will give you some more low end torque.

I have the same exhust on my talon... your right, the sound is really cool! remember back before the exhust... you didn't have low-end to begin with. The motors don't pull till 4 grand. putting the silencer in just makes it sound like a honda (we don't want that!). if you really turely want low-end invest in torqueyer cams or cam gears. Or, do what the rest of us do... LET'ER SCREAM! (A stock mitsu never gets in front of me in a race, and after 4 grand... he's toast!)
