Alright I got the time and idea to cut of my aircan..so i did. well before that I did I went on a the highway and got my N/T Laser up to 125MPH, well know after I cut the can completely off I tried to go back on the highway and now it's seems like the car is goverened at 105MPH it will not go any higher for some reason..Whats the deal does anyone know why?

wow never heard of that before what year is your car? Mine is a '93 and I havent had any problems with it yet. If you have a 2nd or a third gen I heard they can sometimes get problems with missing air boxes. Do any check lights come on? maybe the 02 sensor is messing ya. If you have over 50,000 replace it anyway.

What could be happening is turbulence from the fan is causing the MAS to read more air and in turn is dumping fuel like nuts or it's reading so much air that the computer can't compensate and could be pulling timeing.
Most people don't get rid of the whole air box because of that, they just cut some of it.
Thats the only things I can think of.

shortly after I received my K&N-filter I completely removed my aircan and drove some weeks with an open air filter...the car pulled like mad and sounded sweet! But this was before the temps round here rose above +5 degC...after it got warmer, the fans started to go on and my car was idling like crap and it even stalled at lights. So I put the damn aircan back in.. :-((

to make it short...either you build yourself a real cold air intake or leave the aircan untouched!!...because you do not want hot, turbulent air in your engine!!!

P.s: try cutting the milk jug open...helps a little

yeah, i've had it... when you completely remove the aircan, you need to make a heat shield or the heat from the header will cause your car to bog down becaue it's taking in hot air (remember: cool air=good combustion, hot air=bogging and knock)

Yeah. That sums it up pretty good. I didnt notice a change in top speed, but I did notice it in the pull, by a mile, espicially after pulling the silencer out and opening the crap out of it. The thing is turbulant hot air, period. the 1g MAF uses the vortices to determine the air, and if it's too turbulant, it cant read em, that is something you gotta be really careful on. Again, stick with the cold air setup, and seal it off from the rest of the car. I have an Akimoto filter (has filtering elements where the top metal plate of a K&N is, and I do notice a little better pull) stuck to the MAF. Then I have a dryer duct straight from that (sealed to the flat metal that joins the MAF & Air hose) and then that goes down to the front corner air dam in the passenger side- pointing straight foreward. Idea being all the air in that (it's like 5 or 6") MUST go through that filter and into the engine, it cant get out any other way. That's my "ram air" setup and it took some fine tuning to get it to work right, but espicially at high speeds, I notice the pull and sound. I love shooting down narrow one way streets at 1 in the morning with the windows down and hearing the screaming engine echo off the buildings. Sounds like a regular race car

:)

Good luck - may the cold air be with you
