Help!! 2g Eclipse down for the count....

Well I have a NA 96 eclipse, when I start it it fires up then dies.....it is sometimes ok when the car is warm though..... does this sound familliar to anyone???

Hmm, that could be a lot of things. My first guess would be either your fuel filter or fuel pump is going out on you. Otherwise, maybe it could be a timing problem?

When was your last tune up? Plugs, wires, all that good stuff?

Where is the fuel filter located?? Also if it was the pump wouldn't the car shutdown while i was driving it....it only dose it when I push the clutch in or leave it idling...

Well my last plug and wire changes were about 5k ago.......

Wow this sounds kinda familiar. I'll look into the fuel filter when I go home tonight so I'll post again tonight.

It can be a number of things. But it does sound like your not getting any fuel. I wonder if you got a bad sensor somewhere? I'd take it in ... there are so many things that could be the cause.

the fuel filter on the 97+ cars is on the passenger side, close to the gas tank. its a cylinder lookin thing with 2 hoses at each end, one running to the tank and one to the front of the car. not sure if the 95-96 models are the same. i think i remember hearing they are closer to the engine and quite a bit harder to change than the 97+. it took like 10 minutes for me to change mine the first time.

The fuel filter is in the same place on the 96's, 95's they are in the engine compartment on the firewall.
