It's not a hard job to do, I taped off of the wire in the passenger side kick panel. But, you can go directly off of the O2 sensor if ya want. It's up to you.

so this is an extremely old thread, but if it has the exact info i need. my options were to start a new one and get flammed or bring this one back from the grave. anyway, where's this wire under the kickpanel on the passenger side? also, the link doesnt work. i have seen the same link in two different thread on my search, but neither work. can someone update it for me? thanks for any help

Dejavu, i looked at this thread yesterday to help install an A/F in a members 1G. Apperntly all you need to do is tap the Oxygen Sensor wire on the ECU which is wire 4 on this chart:

http://www.vfaq.com/proj-pics/ECU/ecu-harness-1G.gif

and of course the positive/negative wires.

On his AWD Talon, it was a white wire with orangeish stripes. Easy job, just hard to access you 1G guy's ECU since the wires are shorter.

is it a different color on every car? i was told to look for a purple wire with a white stripe.

The ECU is going to be a pain in the ass to take off. i hear that the wire runs under the passenger kickpanel. i just can't seem to find it. does anyone have a detailed description on where the wire runs or maybe a pic?

The kick panel o2 wire is kinda taped to the side of the wiring harness, way up there. It's a white female spade connector, and IIRC the wire is either orange or brown.

You could accomplish the same thing by tapping it at the ECU though... just your call on which is easier to get to.

I find that since you are usually installing the gauges on the driver's side of the car it is usually much easier to just tap in on the ecu harness. Screw looking around for that wire in the kick area. :P

I am curious if ppl are using the primary or secondary O2,I would like to use the primaty just dont want to lower the voltage on the line with the extra input.
