Hey guys I'm new here, wondering if you all can help
me with a suspention setup. I don't race a DSM but
you guys really seem to have your act together so
I'm hopeing for a little advise.
The car is currantly setup with a FWD suspention
setup. Coil overs front and rear, 500 pound springs
front and 200 rear. Adjutable Konis on the front
and Carrara's out back. No sway bars and a set
of wheelie bars hanging out the back. Best times
are 10.8 at 133. Currant weight is 2050 with driver.
This winter I'm switching the car to AWD and have no
clue how to set it up. From the research I've done
seems there are 2 schools of thought on this.
A little more about the AWD, it should add about
250 pounds to the car, but I'm planning on removeing
about 100 more pounds from the car so new weight
will be around 2200 pounds. Power should be in the
high 4's to low 5's also the center dif will be welded
up for durability reasons.
1st set it up like a RWD car and let the nose
rise adding weight to the rear tires.
2nd set it up so there is very little rise on the
front and little squat in the rear.
I'm from a road race backround so I kinda agree with the
2nd setup method,4 tires equaly loaded will hook better
then 2 loaded and 2 unloaded, and I think be easyier
on the driveline.
Thanks for the help from the compatition.
