Hey guys. I was just wondering if a turbo timer would work with a 5-speed car. Reason is that i always put my car in 1st gear when i shut it off. Just wondering if i could still do this with a timer.
TIA

Turbo timers will work in m/t,s you'll just have to start using your parking brake.

Yeah, the timer will work but you will have to leave the car in neutral when it is parked.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU LIVE YOUR IN NEUTRAL AND USE YOUR PARKING BREAK.......If you get a Greddy Turbo Timer. There's a purple wire(speed sensor). It usally goes to the ECU.That wire senses speed in return shuts the engine off.To keep theives from driving away with your car. What I did with mine(purple wire).I hooked it up to the clutch sensor.Since we have to push the clutch in to start/drive.After you turn your off the turbo timer starts counting down.If you push the clutch just a slight bit the car shuts off.:D Iwent this route instead of using the ECU..

Does any one have a turbo timer and has rewired the fuel pump and added a kill switch to the relay.
Im wondering if the you'd enable the kill switch would it automatically kill the engine since the fuel pump is basically shut off, or would it still run till the fuel runs out of the fuel lines.

I have another question on the subject, The turbo timer keeps the car running after you shut it off right? You pull the key out and every thing and it does the rest its self after you lock the door and all that?

yep!! the turbo timer will let the car idle itself. all you have to do is set it to the time that you want the timer to count down from. turn the car off and lock the car and walk away. after the time counts down to 0, the car will automatically shut itself down. before you get out of the car, make sure that the brake is up and you are in nuetral.
do you have an aftermarket alarm, or a factory alarm system?
i have a aftermarket alarm and i had to have it professionally done because the timer has to enable itself after the countdown is donw.

Shabbay:
If you add a turbotimer and then add a kill switch and enable the kill switch it will cut fuel regardless if the T-timer has finished counting down or not.

So if you enable the switch and kill the pump, will the car still run with the remaining fuel in the fuel line? Or will it die because the ecu sees that the pump is off and shuts down the car?

It will run for about three seconds before it sputters off.
What you could do is wire up a little circuit so that after the car turns off, a separate relay shuts off, shutting off the fuel pump. You can have a momentary switch hidden away somewhere that must be pushed after you turn the key to on. When you turn the key to on, you must press the hidden switch. When you push the switch, the relay energizes, and closes the circuit for the fuel pump. You can use a DPDT relay so one pole connects the circuit for the fuel pump, and the other pole keeps the relay energized. When the car shuts off, the accessory lead goes dead, and the relay drops out, cutting the circuit.
I can write up a circuit for this if anyone is interested...
