Given: Need to replace the shocks, can't quit bouncing for miles...
If I'm going to do it, let's do it right. However, I'm not going to race it, but I do want it to perform when necessary. What is lowering (no more than 1.5 max) going to do for it? and if I'm down there anyway, what about sway bars?
Thanks...

How much do you want to spend? Give me that and I can help you better.
As far as sway bars just replace the factory bushings with polyurathane ones, that helps a lot. It makes the bar react to changes more quickly. Plus it's pretty cheap.

About $6-700, I've been shopping around vendors for the KYB AGX's, and H&R springs...seems to be in this area? Should I be expecting more or less for my setup. Again, I'm not racing though, and I'm looking for a real hard handling suspension.
Thanks.

Is comfort important?
If so forget about the AGXs or GR2s, KYB shocks have a lot of stiction and too much high speed compression dampening. They both ride pretty harsh on the street.
I'd say look to konis if you're concerned about ride quality. They control the rate of body roll just a well as the KYBs do, but absorb sharp bumps smoother (expansion cracks, potholes, small bumps, etc..). Ask for a quote from shox.com on them, they have very good prices.
H&R springs work very well for what you're going for here, go with them.
