Anyone know where I can read up on offsets for 96 GST?

Am thinking of getting new set of wheels.

after having read the above faq, has someone used the following setup: 16 X 8 , 225/50/16 w/ +46 mm offset? And without lowering the car, how does it look? appreciate if u can show pics.
