I have been searching for hours on the site for the answer to this question. To make a long story short I got tired of the idle surge problem just like many of you have. I fabricated a plate for the throttle body and removed the section containing the coolant passage and the isc motor. The car idles very very well now. The only problem is that during idle the check engine light is on. As soon as I step on the gas it goes away. So I figured Ill trick the ecu and just hook the isc back up and zip tie it somewhere in the engine. It does the same thing. Check engine light at idle and dissappears as soon as the throttle is pressed. I have seen other people with the same problem but not a solution. Did anyone ever figure out how to trick the ecu into not recognizing the isc is not being active in engine management?? Let me know, greatly appreciated, Sean

I had this same problem in my 92 eclipse 2.0 non turbo, all i did was adjust the tps and the check engine light went away. i already went through the game of replacing the biss o ring, replacing the isc motor, replacing all the vacuum lines, replacing the isc motor o-ring, replacing the throttle body gasket. and to find out, my tps had fallen out of adjustment, try adjusting it to the proper specs to see if it gets rid of the cel. at least this worked for me!;)
