I have a 2g... currently have one 15" sub facing toward the back of the car and angled slightly up....

Does anyone know if this would sound better facing up and slightly toward the back instead? I think it would, other than the fact that that thing that covers the hatch looks like it would rattle like a bitch. But if I took it out someone'd probably rob my car

I would leave it the way it is -- facing backwards. As it is 15" speakers produce long sound waves (you probably have more bass potential outside your car than inside). By facing the speaker backwards, the sound wave needs to travel 1-2 feet before hitting the back wall, then it bounces back in to the cabin area. By facing it backwards, you have added 3-5 extra feet of travel area. This will leave you with the maximum amount of bass INSIDE your car. Just some food for thought

Thanks for your help...

My car doesn't rattle that bad, unless I really try to make it pound, which usually drowns out the rattling anyway

Yeah, in my experience the subs seem louder facing backwards, and in a hatchback its even better.

i would leave it
