Can somebody help me. i installed an HKS turbo timer in my car and everything was working perfectly until i left my headlights on one day and then had to jump start my car. After this jump start, when i take my key out the timer will count down but the engine shuts off as if the timer was not even there. It's hooked up with a harness and all was well until the jumpstart. Can someone tell me what happened??

Are all your wires still connected?

Maybe something got burned when it was jumpstarted.
I guess you could always call HKS.....couldn't find their number.
Call the shop you got it from and see what they say.

Hey can you guys quickly describe where I need to get the wires to hook up the HKS TT? I just ordered one and it should be coming today... do I need to find the correct 'plugs' for the harness within/under the steering column? Or is it found in the side with all the other wires? Thanks a bunch!

The harness on my 1G was in the center of the drivers side footwell. Way the he!! up there. Splice a couple wires onto the ECU and hook up the E-brake wire and you're good to go.

Hey guys....... had to remove the bottom half of my dash to get to the wires, but now I'm not 100% sure which set of wires go to the ECU? I have a short diagram for 2 wires I need to splice for the TT one for the speed and one for the rpm's. Can anyone tell me a bit better exactly what color the wires are perhaps, or where to find this ecu? The thing I am almost sure is the ECU is snagged right under the steering column, but it doesn't look exactly like the picture from HKS in terms of what the ECU harness wires look like (since it also shows which wires to splice) I just don't want to zap anything bad :(
Thanks!

The ECU is behind your center console. Take out the inner kick panels and you'll see it hiding in there. I personally found it to be a PITA to get to.

Well I removed the whole bottom half of my driving console, and I think I found it just under the steering wheel. Of curse I'm not sure if that is the one... or if it is in that bundle of wires that is by the driver side kick panel... They both look similar, but I am hoping the one under the steering column is the right one since it goes to the gauges. Well I will try to splice into each wire and see which one gives me the correct readings :) Damn I wish I knew which one it is!!

Didn't you get a harness? I did and talk about EASY.

Oh yeah I have the harness for sure, but the TT itself needs to have 2 more wires spliced for the speed and rpm readings for all the other features. Am I dumb and those wires need to be spliced to the exact same set of wires that the harness plugs into? I thought I needed to find a different set... well let's set this straight, the TT harness itself, is it an adapter for the ECU wires itself? If it were, then it makes it simple.... :)
The TT instructions say I need to splice those additional wires to the ECU and gives a diagram as to which ones it needs... if it were so simple, then why the heck didn't they just build those wires into the harness itself to start off with!?!? :)

I believe the harness just bypasses the ignition. I agree the wires that get spliced into the ECU should also have a harness but I guess we just didn't get that lucky. I spliced mine right to the ECU. I peeled the insulation, soldered the wires, then heat-shrinked and taped it.

Where on the ecu is the rpm signal wire? Does anyone have a pic or know of a site that shows where and what color it is. FWIW I'm installing a Blitz FATT and it has both the rpm wire and the e-brake wire. Thanks

Mine's 1G so I'm not sure I'd be able to help you.
