Ok I wanted to know which motor mounts was better, Energy Suspension $23 vs Prothane $80. In terms of functional vs ride quality (shaky). So I emailed RRE and DSMshop and see what they think.

Here are the results, I hope the shop owner don't mind I post their email here:

theDSMShop:

We sold over 300 prothane motor mount kits last year and not one person has
ever had any complaints. As far as the energy suspension, I cant give you my
opinion, since we havent tried them.

Thanks

RRE:

The Prothane ones are way too stiff for street use. They are for trailer
cars only. Even with the softer durometer Energy ones replacing just the
front and rear mounts, we get a few complaints that they are too stiff. The
Prothane kit a good value if you are building a race car and don't care how
much the dash vibrates.

I decided to go with ES, I think :)

I have the ES ones and I have to agree w/ Mike Welch.
As soon as you put them in and start the car, you'll know what I mean.It shakes.I don't care if it does as long as it helps.I'd tell you what though, if it's worse than that w/ PROTHANE, I'd get the ES ones.

Ah, wienies :)

Just kidding...I have the Prothane kit, and I like it. Yes, the car DOES shake more, but the biggest difference for me is that the whole car is louder. You hear all the engine noises....you hear the gears meshing in the trans, you feel how poorly you're shifting :)

Unless you're hardcore i wouldn't get the Prothanes, but I've gone so far overboard on my car I had no other choice :)

Oh yeah, I'm also running a balanced and built motor, so your results may vary.

Phoenix,

Off topic I know, but what kind of times are you running
with that setup? Just interested.
If you have had it dyno'ed I would love to hear the #'s.

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to dyno my AWD....

Last year with a small 16g, Star FMIC (crap), more exhaust restrictions, and an automatic trans I ran a 13.3@102. I blew the engine up in July, and I just got the car running 3 weeks ago :)

It feels really fast, and it's easy to break the tires loose in 1st and 2nd, but now I have an exhaust leak the size of my head to contend with ;)

Once the weather warms up and all the bugs are chased out of my car, I'll post more info.

Thanks for the interest.
