I'm not entirely sure this is the appropiate place to put this, but it seemed right cuz i have a 1.8. My problem is that my clutch keeps dying. I am on my third clutch in the past 20,000 miles. The stock one lasted up to 107,000...then the second one burnt out after 117,000. After that one, I thought it was my driving, but on the current clutch, I have been extra nice to it and it is already starting to go. The clutches that I have put in aren't cheap clutches either, so I have no idea what is going on? Does anyone know why this would happen?
Thanks

That sucks! hmm... I've only done one, years ago, and if I remember right you have to re-adjust the preasure plate, because as the clutch wears down the preasure plate moves with it.
Just a guess. I'm not really good with clutches. I'm not even sure if it's called a preasure plate. :dunno:

Did you get the flywheel resurfaced? Did you reuse the existing Pressure Plate(you were right Saturday). I think with those alone that could cause the constant slipping.

I did have the flywheel redone, not sure if new or just fixed...the pressure plate was said to be fixed with the first replacement, but im not sure of that cuz i made the mistake of taking my car to goodyear to have it done...i was despritely in need of a clutch fast and its across the street...ill never take my car there again for anything...but the second the place i went was a trans specialist and said the pressure plate was off, so he fixed that. Should I just go with a stronger clutch...like an ACT, if those even fit our cars? Thanks for the help.

yeah, I'm finished bringing my cars to any big name shops like Goodyear or Sears Automotove. The last time I brought my car into Sears, for an alignment they overtorqued the lugnuts and busted one of them. stupid bastards. Everything has a torque specification on a car. hello, don't they teach you that in automechanics class. I totally chewed them out about it right in the showroom so everyone could see how pathetic their mechanics are.
