I have a 90 Laser..with a blown engine. I bought another 90 Laser same interior/exterior, engine/tranny without a computer and wrecked front end. The engine runs but smokes alittle..so when I pull it out of course I'm going to do a rebuild..while I have it apart..is there ANY performance internals I can replace the stock internals with? And if so..can you please give me the links to them.I'd much appreciate it. btw, if fast1.8sohcDSM reads this...wanna rebuild it for me? :)

If you wanted to you could take the motor and get forged internals and have it ready to be turbocharged. Ofcourse, I don't know your money situation. If you need to, just have a Japanese Exchange engine shipped to you, so therefore; you will have another motor, and you can build the one you have. I would do that if it were me. JDM engines are easy to get, and they contain a 6 months-1 year warantee depending where you go. So there you go.

The thing is I bought the car for the engine already..so I wouldn't have to buy a Japanese Exchange engine..I wish you lived closer where I'm at...you'd hate me so much..with my constantly nagging you for help. :) I would like to turbocharge it..but it seems as though it's not perfected yet..hopefully they'll start making aftermarket parts for the 1.8L SOON. There's a shop about an hour from my house called Terminal Velocity Racing that specialize in imports..I thought about going to them but I know I'm going to be paying about $5k or more for the work they're gonna do. Plus I talked to a guy who works there and he said I could only run about 7 psi..so obviously he knows what he's talkin about. :Þ But anyway..I might pull out a loan for $2,500 and have someone just rebuild the engine.

If you want someone to do it for you, see if you can get a hook up on a full rebuilt engine and put that in your car. I would rebuild the motor for you if I lived closer, but I live in Utah. Sorry.
