There is a 91 TSi for sale by my house. The engine has a slight misfire. It is $800

I am basically looking for a turbo car to rip the engine and do a rebuild, then drop it in my DL.

I dont want the 91 TSi to drive. The whole point is to drop the engine in my DL.

So question is, If misfire is not too bad and I'm doing the rebuild, which should clear up the misfire....is $800 a bad price?

Oh yeah..has new breaks and new tires and is recently inspected....not that it will affect the engine itself much....but extra parts.

If you're not using ANY body parts, just the motor, and you're paying for a rebuild, I'd offer a little less...How many miles are on the motor and the rest of the car. You can part it out and sell everything but the motor and get some of your money back...I'd go for it;)

I bought my Talon simply for the parts. It ran with a non-boosting turbo and ran great minus the lack of power. The interior was immaculate and the body was in excellent condition except for a dent in the hood and a bust signal lamp. I bought the thing for $550 and it had 150,000 miles on it. Seats have been swap as well as power windows. Motor and tranny are soon to be lowered in the once 1.8 and then the car is gonna be parted and sold piece by piece. All worth it I think.

There is no gurantee that the rebuild will go perfectly, I'd say $500 just in case...
