Can someone tell me, what the stock sizes of "ALL" the speakers in my 1994 TSI AWD are???? I need to replace them but do not know the sizes.

Thanks!

You have a TSi, so you prolly have the 6 speaker stereo. In the front dash, you have 4T (4" speaker but it will only fit 2 of the 4 brackets. There are special 4T speakers for these cars, but they all suck) Then you have 5 1/4" in the doors.(oversized. Which means whatever speaker you buy will not fit in air tight, and you will have to start new holes to mount) In the back you should have 6 1/2". I hear people all the time say they have 6x9's. I have a 94 Talon and I acually bought 6x9's, cause the grill even looked it, and they wouldnt fit. I had 6 1/2" in mine. So... You should have 4T in dash. 5 1/4 in doors, and 6 1/2 in back.

I have a set of 6x9's in the rear. Oh, and you can fit 6.5" speakers in the doors without using a hacksaw; it's a tight fit just like using 4" in the dash, but I love the sound I get.

You can pull off 6x9's in the rear easily. The only problem is magnet size. If you get some speakers with enormous magnets you need to pound down the body alittle. Just take a hammer and bash at it alittle bit. The metal is very easy to pound in. Good luck.

Now I have some Pioneer Premier 6x9's with some huge magnets on them. They obviously don't fit. Now by pounding that down I am pounding on the metal that makes up my wheel well? I'm planning on dropping my car and I don't need a smaller wheel well.

Hmmmmmm, didnt think about that yet. I did it for my friend but didnt look in his wheel well for the effects. I will have to do that and let you know. Thanks for the heads up.

Okay, i took a pick in the wheel well and to my dismay you were correct. The pounding does push in the wheel well. But the degree of which it gets pounded depends on your magnet size on the new speakers. The kappas have enormous magnets and on that car, the pushed in area was only about 2cm at the most into the wheel well. This is just an eyed guessatmate but if anything it was protruding less into the wheel well than my guess. Sorry if this is incoherent. :)
