i was taking apart my intake to clean it, well i took it off and there was oily, chuncky stuff all in it all down the intake i don't know if got into my motor or not but i think it did. remember when i made the thread (car smokes). i'm starting to wonder if this is causeing it or what, but i took my EGR vavle off and it was clocked with that junk. does anyone now whats causeing this. i know this isn't normal.

If your car uses oil, this is pretty normal. It's routing exhaust gasses back to your intake, and if you got burnt oil in the exhaust, you'll get burnt oil in the intake.

cwlaser90...

Disconnect the breather hose (small hose from the valve cover to the intake) and leave it hanging to the back of the car or replace it with a little K&N filter. Then plug the nipple that's on the intake and problem solved.

Or you could do what I did and make a block-off plate. It's easier than you think. Go down to your local hardware store and buy a roll of thin aluminum, remove the EGR valve and trace the flange pattern, then cut it out (you don't even need tin snips). Drill out the mounting holes and sandwich it between the EGR valve and the manifold with some RTV.

blackboost,

my car continues to blow white smoke out the exhaust. i replaced the pcv vavle because i thought it was bad and putting oil in the intake. but it still never stoped after it was replaced , now i'm wondering if the hose u said is blowing oil in the intake, but i thought it was supposed to be sucking air and not blowing air, because its blowing air out into the intake. so is somthing cloged and causing it to blow air, or is it supposed to be like that.

That's correct. Anyway, is your engine overheating? I ask because you mentioned white smoke which means that the head gasket might be bad.:(

ya its had alot of over heating prolblems about a year ago. the car would be sitting and i wouldn't pay attion to the temp and the fans didn't come on and it got way way hot and it blew the coolant cap off.its done that like three times but it hasn't done it resently and i know i haven't lost any power. and my coolant level hasn't droped and theres no coolant in the oil.

Do a compression test to see where you're standing.
