Has anybody thought of taking the fuel injection out total and maybe installing some Webers? It seems to me if Webers can make a 2000cc Beetle turn 13's maybe we could see similar performance increases. What do you think? What would it take?

Imagine how much of modding it would be to convert it, and ecu? oh man that's a scary thought, but there's nothing that can't be accomlished right :)

To paraphrase a bad movie line "ECU Don't need no stinkin ECU" You would need a different ignition system. I'm no expert but it seems to me that if you didn't worry about it being street legal (maybe a road racing car") You could convert to just the pure pursuit of Horsepower. I know Carbs can deliver more fuel that injectors and alot faster.
I can't remember who is working on the supercharge idea but by using carbs might make it easier. But I sure there are some of you out there who know quite a bit about what it would take, a lot more than me. Is this just a pipedream or is it possible.
