Gotta question --- Somebody help me

I was reading in the Technical manual for the eclipse that the sunroof is supposed to be operational for 30 seconds after the key is taken out of the ignition and an additional 30 seconds when a door is opened. My sunroof DOES NOT do this. If I take the key out of the ignition, forget it, the sunroof is not closing. Anyone else have this problem. I have a 97 Eclipse RS.

I have a 98 GS-T. That's not stated in my manual, and mine only works when the key is on.
