Welcome to DSMsource.com! We are brand new, yet have been around for years. In fact, if you were a member of DSMtalk.com prior to November 2004 you may already have an account here. (Try your old login first to see if it works, before registering for a new one. Of course, there is a lost password function to help you out.)
A brief history: I founded DSMtalk.com in 2000. After a malfunction of the database in 2004, I was contacted by a potential purchaser. After a few professional conversations, I was convinced he had the time, expertise, and desire to carry on DSMtalk in the same spirit in which it was founded and managed by the dedicated moderating team. Worth noting is that the terms of sale specifically allowed the seller to retain rights to the database and retain rights to create additional websites, similar, or not. Enough legalese, just letting you know in case it crossed your mind. So the deal was signed.
Fast forward to the launching of DSMsource.com. I have founded DSMsource.com with the help of several members of the original moderator team, and a couple new ones that were dedicated members of the community. We did not think the purchaser, or subsequent owner(s) of the original site, retained the sprit we founded it with. No malice or ill-will, we just think we would have taken things in a different direction. Our collective reason in being involved in DSMsource.com is to provide a DSM community where the ownership/management/mod team, in a sense, work as a co-op. Running things the way the group agrees is best for serious DSM enthusiasts. Even the contributing members of the community have a say. (Of course not everyone can have a say.... and that is why some incorrectly characterized our moderating team as "nazis".) Our actions are not driven by the “bottom line”, nor by corporate agendas. I won’t bore you with any more details regarding our motivations or structure anymore, other than to say we are doing this for DSM enthusiasts, and hope to guide the site down the path that keeps serious DSM enthusiasts happy.
There is a big gap in time with no posts ... but think of it as a new site with a built-in kick-ass archive.

Get involved in the community, and DSMsource.com will succeed, and go in the direction you want it to go.
